Invisalign aligners are clear and discreet, which means casual observers will be hard-pressed to see that you are straightening your teeth!

The Invisalign Treatment Process

Booking a consultation with our orthodontists is the first step to a straighter smile. We will evaluate your needs and determine if you're an ideal candidate for Invisalign. If you are, X-rays and impressions will be taken of your teeth to create a 3-D impression of your mouth.

The impressions are used to create clear, personalized trays that are to be worn for 22 hours every day. Every two weeks you will move to your next set of trays, and you should notice your teeth gradually moving into their desired position during your treatment.

Once your treatment is complete, a retainer will be prescribed for three to six months to hold your teeth in place while your jawbone recovers.

Invisalign FAQs

As your Surrey Invisalign provider, we want you to be fully informed before treatment begins.

Below, our orthodontists share the answers to some of the frequently asked question that we receive from patients inquiring about Invisalign clear aligners.

  • How long does Invisalign treatment take?

To determine the duration of your Invisalign treatment, your dentist will assess your needs and the state of your current oral health. An estimate of your treatment length will be provided following your assessment.

The misalignment of your teeth or jaw, the shape of your bite, and the amount of movement required to correct the problem can all factor into how long treatment will take.

  • How often will I have to see the orthodontist during treatment?

Since Invisalign aligners don't require any adjustments or tightening and you just switch to a new set of aligners every two weeks, you won't require as many visits to our office.

Every six weeks or so, your orthodontist will schedule brief checkup appointments. During these appointments, your orthodontist will review your progress and general oral health, answer your questions, and adjust your treatment as they see fit.

  • What are the benefits of Invisalign?

When undergoing orthodontic treatment with Invisalign, you should notice some advantages, such as:

    • A discreet, low-profile appearance
    • Smooth construction for enhanced comfort
    • No adjustment appointments required
    • Removable for eating, brushing, and flossing
  • Will I have any food or drink restrictions?

You will take your aligners out whenever you eat or drink anything other than water, so you shouldn't have to adjust your diet during treatment.

You can continue to eat all the foods and drinks you love without worrying about prolonging your treatment or damaging your teeth!

  • Will Invisalign fit my lifestyle?

Many patients find that the convenience of Invisalign barely affects their day-to-day lives.

You can take your aligners out whenever you need to eat, drink, brush, and floss, so you can go on about your normal day without any changes to your eating habits or oral hygiene routine.
