Invisalign on the Go: What You Need

Invisalign on the Go: What You Need

There are some essential items that you’ll need to have with you wherever you go, in order to keep your Invisalign aligners cleaning and fresh over the course of your orthodontic treatment. Here's what you're going to need:

A Pouch

You’re going to require a pouch to hold all of your Invisalign maintenance items. Your pouch will need to be something durable that you can toss in your bag, backpack, desk or locker. It's a good idea to choose a pouch that's zippered, with a lining that is at least water resistant, to hold your damp toothbrush.

Your Aligner Case

Whenever your aligners are not in your mouth, they must be cleaned and stored in the aligner case. Be sure to keep the case with you at all times so you have a safe, clean place to store your aligners while you're brushing your teeth, eating or drinking.

Lip Balm

Always carry your favourite lip balm in your kit. Invisalign orthodontic treatment comes dry lips, especially as you’re getting used to wearing your aligners.

Travel Toothbrush, Floss & Toothpaste.

You need to brush and floss your teeth every time you take out your aligners to eat. You won’t want food particles and debris stuck between your aligners and your teeth for the rest of the day! Make sure you brush and floss thoroughly before putting your aligners back in your mouth every time.

“Outie” Aligner Removal Tool

Your aligners may just be especially tight sometimes, particularly when you first switch to a new set. The handy 'Outie' tool will help you detach them from your teeth whenever this happens.

Mints or Breath Spray.

You won't be able to chew gum with your Invisalign aligners in. If you are concerned about bad breath then carry along some mints or breath spray to help you feel more confident.
